Fishing in Texas, A brief look

Due to the sheer size of the state, Texas fishing opportunities are varied. The most common game fish for Texas anglers include largemouth bass, white bass, and crappie. Texas fishing guides are blessed by multiple rivers practically rimming the state. The Red River cuts through the northern part of the state; in East Texas fishing guides will lead anglers the Sabine, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico. The famous Rio Grande runs across the Mexico/Texas border while the middle of the state is flecked by hundreds of creeks and basins. One of the more popular Texas fishing lakes is Caddo, which straddles the Louisiana border. The tree and alligator filled lake also provides for some excitement beyond angling. Bass fishermen can also catch chain pickerel, which are common Caddo fishing in the winter months.

White bass fishing is especially popular in Texas and a favorite in the Lake Texoma area. Lake Texoma fishing really takes shape when the white bass are running or schooling. Fishing in Lake Texoma and the Red River basin tend to be the most popular fishing destinations in Texas. In the turbid waters of upper Lake Texoma the primary fish are channel catfish, white bass, and crappie. Largemouth bass fishing can be had towards the Denison Dam.
